Tiger

This is dedicatated to my amazing beautiful german sheppard x rotweiler who I had to put down on the 25th of October 2012.
My heart is so hollow since you left and I never thought I could love anybody or anything so much. Until I met you I was always oblivious to the true beauty and glamour of nature and its expressions. Thank You Tiger
I know there are people out there who must be thinking WTF and there would have been a time when I felt the same.
How can someone who is so into glamour dedicate a blog post to their dog, but he was such an integral part of my life and my daily happiness.
As painful as it is now he has left but I would not have changed a thing. To act cute, laugh and be loved and needed so much even from an animal on a daily bases can do wonders for your looks and all round energy.
We are all going to get wrinkles and our faces and body at some point, even if we get fillers and botox your life experiences and true feeling always show on our faces therefore it is so important to spend your energy in life feeling good, loved and glamourous as that is going to be the expression imprinted into your face. You may not believe me but start looking at the emotional expression on the faces of older women, some are so soft and have a little smile imprinted into their expression lines and others have the opposite, a frown, pain and disappointment imprinted permanently into their expressions. I have always admired and loved glamourous older women and now finding myself closer to becoming one of those women every day, the thing that I have learned is that it doesnt matter how good your hair , makeup or clothes are your experiences and ability to live in the love feeling makes up a big part of your look esspecially your face.
Thank you Tiger for the years of laughter, cuteness and incredible and unexpected Love.
I will miss you and love you forever and will get to the place that every time I think about you I further imprint that glamour wrinkle smile permanently onto my face. Love You Baby
Thank you for the years of fun and Joy I am going to miss you little one with your dark eyeliner eyes

Homage to Japanese Glamour

This post is dedicated to my fascination with Japanese Glamour makeup and fashion.
I am obsessed with the Gyaru look and love how dedicated the followers of this fashion are to achieving and maintaining the standard of this look.
The key components of this look consists of big puffy, curled and usually beached hair, all shades of peach, salmon, ashen violet and caramel coloured hair tones.
Japanese fashion magazines show step by step tutorials in how to achieve these looks making it accessible to the reader on how and what to do each step of the way to achieve the look, something that the western magazines are badly lacking.
Makeup is another key part of this look and these girls go to extremes in achieving clean black lines and carefully applying top and bottom eyelashes to get the dolly round eye look.
They only really use black eye makeup and are skillful artisans in corrective eye makeup techniques. Again they are provided with education and support by their makeup industry and magazines.
The thing I love about this fashion is that they totally embrace all things fake and girlie.
In my opinion natural is fine but good hair and makeup makes you feel better about your self and boosts confidence, why would you want to be natural and disappear into the sea of other naturals, I would rather turn heads.
My friend Jesse Tansiri (RIP 1991-2011) introduced me to these Japanese magazines a few years back and was a devout Gyaru herself, we would spend hours talking glamour.
She visited Japan before she left us and was telling me that the average girl spends 2 hours daily doing her hair and and makeup, even the lady cleaning the toilets has bleached teased hair and fake eyelashes on. Also just in case your desperate they sell fake eyelashes and lash glue at the 711 convenience store.
I have the up most respect for anyone willing to demonstrate their love for themselves by putting in the time and effort to achieving head turning glamour, they deserve every compliment and wolf whistle they get, they worked for it.

The Producers at the Arts Center

Hi Glammies, If your not sure what to do in Melbourne on a cold winters night in July, you should do what Melbournians have been doing for hundreds of years and thats "Go to the Theater"
Live some glitz and glamour and wear that gown that you never wear cause you think its too dressy.
I am working on this show in the wig department and let me say that the costumes, wigs and cast are magic.

Lazy

Hello, I am relating the word lazy and what it means in the world of Glamour, Lazy is the Anti Glamour! Convenience is the enemy when it comes to looking good and that is why I get up every day and do my hair and makeup, it empowers me and gives me confidence. That is why I am writing my blog after I started it a few weeks ago and have only just now written a comeback page after my introduction. Lazy! I can blame it on my age and the fact that I didn't learn how to use a computer at school but the base fact that I have been lazy and my pathetic excuse is that the computer traumatizes me. I am certainly not lazy when it comes to my hair and makeup, I spend an hour blow drying my hair a few times a week and every morning devotedly draw my eyebrows on and black socket eyeshadow and black cat eye liquid eyerliner flicks before even bringing the bins out in the morning way out in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, I know people may find this ridiculous but for me its normal everyday Glamour. However my issues with regular blogging and even turning my laptop everyday leads me to the fact I am being lazy.
I will promise to bring you Glamour to keep you inspired to live and achieve the ultimate everyday Glamourous life even on a budget. Stay tuned for more.
One of my Faves from the days gone by, Stella Stevens, I am loving this curl coming inwards and around the face. I am rocking this curl with my look as I am a bit bored of the outward turning curl, everyone is doing it way too common.

Welcome to my world of Glamour

Hello I am Glam Fran, I have been doing hair and makeup for 20 plus years and I am very passionate about Glamour and especially era's of the past dating back to Egyptian times and the conditions and amazing discoveries that we as humans have created in order to beautify and give ourselves what we need to feel and rock the Glamour.

I will be telling stories that have been shared with me by women who have lived through different eras and had to try and achieve Glamour hair do's before straighters and blow driers were invented.
Sharing my knowledge that I obtained through working and managing at the Iconic Melbourne store Backstage Makeup in Little Collins St for 10 years,in this time I meet and helped the fabulous performing arts and makeup artist communities of Melbourne

I feel privileged to share my experience and obtained knowledge and  I have been lucky enough to have devoted my working life to Glamour and it pursuits as an Artist.

Here are some of my little sayings that are also basic rules for Glamour,

HAIR is everything! so so true, big hair is so flattering and even if you have lots of thick hair you should still fake it with wigs and extensions.

Skin care is so important, make up only looks as good as the surface its going on! Skin must be smooth and buff, sometimes primer just cant cut it alone.

Treat your self and each other with love and kindness, nastiness and jealousy shows on your face and it eventually becomes your permanent expression!

Thanks for reading
